Personal Information
I am a postdoc researcher working on the interface of microbiology and nanotechnology under supervision of Prof. Oswaldo Luiz Alves in the Solid State Chemistry Laboratory at Unicamp. I received my bachelor's in Chemistry in 2005 from Federal University of Viçosa and my PhD in Food Science from the University of Campinas in 2010. I gained my first research experience working with biochemistry and microbiology at Institute of Biotechnology Applied to Agriculture (BIOAGRO - UFV) under supervision of Prof. Cristina Pereira Baracat and Prof. Marcos Rogério Tótola, respectively. In my PhD course I completed thesis on the production, purification and chemical characterization of biosurfactants. My PhD thesis was supervised by Prof. Lucia Regina Durrant. Recently, my postdoc project is focused in to explore the biological properties of nanostructured materials with emphasis in nanocomposites based on graphene oxide and silver nanoparticles. I have interest in learning more about molecular biology applied to microbiology and if possible investigate how the nanomaterials presence alter the microbial ecology in aquatic, sediments and soil environments. Furthermore, I am very interesting in subjects like as discovery of new biosurfactants, biological and environmental applications of the biosurfactants, bioremediation and biodegradation, bioprocess optimization and bioprospection of bioactive molecules.
